MANAGEMENT OF RURAL ENGINEERING AND IMPROVEMENT OF LIVING ENVIRONMENT IN RURAL AREAS
(1) Placed under the authority of a Director, the Directorate of Rural Engineering and Improvement of Living Environment en Milieu Rural is responsible
for: – defining and monitoring the implementation of a regulatory framework for the development and management of rural areas;
– carrying out, within its field of competence, programs to improve the living environment in rural areas;
– monitoring the implementation of programs to improve the living environment in rural areas;
– the design and monitoring of the implementation of programs and projects for the development of rural areas, in liaison with the administrations and organizations concerned;
– participation in the study and establishment of soil development and restoration plans in rural areas;
– the formulation of policies and strategies for the development of agricultural hydraulics;
– the design and monitoring of the implementation of hydro-agricultural development programs and projects;
– developing and monitoring the implementation of management programs for hydro-agricultural structures, in liaison with the administrations and organizations concerned;
– support for producers and rural communities for the development and management of their hydro-agricultural projects;
– the definition of water quality standards for agricultural use and the monitoring of the application of these standards, in liaison with the administrations concerned;
– definition and monitoring of application in terms of the use of water and agricultural machinery;
– approval of agricultural machinery and equipment; the development of sector performance indicators;
– the implementation of rural engineering programs.
