Background Information

Mercy World Organization (MEWO) is a registered non-profit organization headquartered in Mbeya City, Tanzania. It was officially registered on 17th August 2019 under the NGO Act of 2002 with government registration number 00NGO/R/0493, to operate in mainland Tanzania. MEWO was founded in recognition of the pressing challenges affecting African societies, particularly in Tanzania, including poverty, diseases, low level of education, moral decline, and environmental degradation all of which contribute to poor living conditions. In response, MEWO delivers programs in health care, education, economic empowerment, environmental conservation, guidance and counseling with the aim of improving the overall living standard of Tanzanians.

Vision

A society with improved living standard specially to orphans, young children and African communities in general.

Mission

Project mission is to promote, provide, support, advocate and facilitate economic development, counseling, teaching and training to most vulnerable groups such as children, youth, and women/girls for the purpose of improving the life standard of Tanzanian citizens.

Objectives

i. Promote community participation and engagement in economic development

ii. To facilitate health services and support people living with HIV and AIDS to access counseling services and comprehensive training on disease management

iii. Promote advocacy in human rights and gender equality

iv. Facilitate protection of the ecosystem and conservation of biodiversity.
