Initiatives for Peace and Human Rights (iPeace) is a non profit organization that has been working since 2001 to help communities and individuals in Africa’s Great Lakes Region achieve sustainable peaceful coexistence using human rights and good governance education.
iPeace has independently registered organizations in Burundi, DR Congo and Rwanda, which closely collaborate to achieve their shared mission.

iPeace works with the grassroots and local leaders to ensure that the following is achieved in the Africa’s Great Lakes Region:

  • Access to justice for poor people
  • Promotion of Human Rights Education
  • Enhancement of good governance
  • Peacebuilding and people reconciliation

Over vision

That Africa’s Great Lakes Region becomes a place where community members and community leaders work together towards peace by holding each other accountable in respecting  Human Rights values and Good Governance principles.
