Focus: Disability Rights

Equip for Equality Nepal (EEN) is a non-profit organization based in Kathmandu, Nepal, dedicated to advancing social justice, human rights, and legal empowerment for marginalized and vulnerable communities. EEN works to ensure that individuals—particularly persons with disabilities, women, and those facing mental health challenges—are aware of their rights and able to access justice systems effectively.

The organization focuses on bridging the gap between law and lived realities by promoting legal literacy, community-based advocacy, and strategic engagement with government institutions. Through its programs, EEN supports individuals and communities to understand, use, and shape the law to address issues such as discrimination, exclusion, and barriers to essential services.

EEN conducts awareness campaigns, capacity-building workshops, and legal empowerment initiatives that strengthen community voices and participation in decision-making processes. It also collaborates with civil society organizations, legal professionals, and policymakers to advocate for inclusive laws, policies, and practices.

A key area of EEN’s work is promoting rights-based approaches to mental health, challenging stigma, and advocating for reforms that respect dignity, autonomy, and access to care. By combining grassroots engagement with policy advocacy, EEN aims to create a more equitable and inclusive society where all individuals can exercise their rights and live with dignity.
