Communities’ forestry and social development (COFOSODE) has emerged into being an indigenous, non-governmental, and non-profit making developmental organization incorporated in 1994 with a United Nations consultative status. The organization operated with assistance from donor agencies like the United Nations, Commonwealth Forestry Association, UN-Habitat, UNESCO and other international agencies. The organization is registered with the department of social welfare in Ghana. The organization has earned international prominence through representation in numerous local &international conferences and pragmatic projects across the country. The organization has been on hibernation since 2001 because of the demise of the founder Mr. Anthony Aidoo Sr., due its track record of numerous projects in Ghana, the organization has been reincorporated into Cofosode International with the same mission and vision of the founder. Our mission is to help improve the lives of the vulnerable, destitute, and other marginalized people in the community through health, education and human rights advocacy intervention programs. We are also into environmental protection interventions such as afforestation and wildlife protection, forest science and research, climate change mitigation and other environmental based economic income generating programs. Our projects target population groups in rural and marginalized communities in Ghana.

All the activities of Cofosode are managed by qualified and experienced staff members of the organization along with active participation of volunteers from communities and other organizations in the catchment areas.
