The CED has a mission to help protect the rights, interests, culture and aspirations of indigenous and local forest communities of Central Africa, by promoting environmental justice and sustainable management of natural resources in the region.

Our goals are:

– Reduce environmental and social impacts of extractive industries;
– Contribute to local development of communities and indigenous peoples, respecting their environment and culture;
– Help change policies and forest management practices, biodiversity and mining, for reasons of efficiency and promoting participation;
– Contribute to the improvement of land policies to secure the rights of communities to their land.
