Center for Law & Justice: Living with Liberty A nonprofit, nonpartisan, nongovernment organization that strives to ensure access to human rights for underprivileged communities in Pakistan.

Presence in: Pakistan
Focus: Community / Customary Land Rights, Gender-based violence, Governance, Accountability & Transparency, Labor & Employment

The CLJ engages in legal, legislative, and issues related to cultural preservation by implementing effective approaches which include litigation, fact-findings, research, advocacy, engaging civil society, providing free legal aid, and strengthening cultures, ethnic and religious minorities, and understanding of human rights within the disadvantaged communities. Additionally, it furthers its goals by helping communities build individual capacity, structures, and institutions that may enable them to defend their own rights on an enduring basis.

Our Philosophy

CLJ believes that a society cannot flourish, politically, socially, economically or otherwise, if it is unable to provide free and fair access to fundamental human rights to its members without any discrimination. A society’s inability to provide justice strongly reflects on its social fabric and acts as a hindrance to the overall wellbeing. Development in all arenas of a society cannot be achieved in its full potential unless the state cannot provide all its individuals with an assurance of justice and security regardless of their background.

Mission Statement

CLJ strives to protect the rights and interests of marginalized communities in Pakistan by engaging legal, legislative, and cultural issues through research, fact-finding, litigation, advocacy, legal aid, and by engaging the community and other stakeholders for building enduring institutions and community structures.

CLJ strongly believes in and promotes following values in work and among its employees:
