Acheng Foundation is a Ugandan nonprofit organization dedicated to advancing women’s rights and promoting gender equality. Our mission is to empower women and girls to understand, claim, and exercise their rights, while creating inclusive communities where women can thrive socially, economically, and politically.
We implement programs focused on human rights education, advocacy, and community mobilization. Through workshops, awareness campaigns, and capacity-building initiatives, we equip women with knowledge about their legal rights, gender-based violence prevention, economic empowerment, and leadership skills. Our advocacy work engages local leaders, policymakers, and civil society organizations to influence policies that protect and promote women’s rights.
Acheng Foundation operates primarily in local communities across Uganda, working closely with marginalized women to address systemic inequalities and provide practical support. We also foster networks of women leaders, creating platforms for peer learning, mentorship, and collective action. Our approach combines education, advocacy, and community engagement to create sustainable change and ensure that women’s voices are heard at all levels of society.
Through these programs, Acheng Foundation strives to build a society where women are empowered to participate fully in decision-making processes, enjoy equal opportunities, and live free from discrimination and violence.
