To change the perspective or rather put the right perspective in place, राजि ख़ुशी is a small law office in a hill town- Karanprayag for the public services relating to socio-legal aspect of life. This initiative is a project that want to change the monotonous tone of law offices and provide outreach to the small towns, villages of Uttarakhand through its affordable legal services. The office will have child friendly and women friendly ambience making law office more approachable and accessible. In each case, aggrieved person will be provided counselling and thereafter any legal remedies will be suggested. All the avenues to justice will be explained in local dialect (Garhwali, Kumaoni, Jaunsari, Bhotiya, Nepali etc), also a written advice in local dialect will be served so that there is proper accountability and feedback space for aggrieved persons coming to law office. The office will also be working towards developing mountain jurisprudence and amending Uttarakhand laws which are photocopy of Uttar Pradesh laws adopted by Uttarakhand Government without drawing upon experiences from mountain realities. It will engage with youth of mountains in empowering them and using law as a tool to happiness. The office primarily believes in creating happiness through law by inducting scientific ways as well as traditional knowledge, means it will be enriching aggrieved person’s experience by including multi-disciplinary approach to law. A legal services provider, learning resource centre as well as experimental office working towards “rule of law and happiness” for the people of the mountain specifically considering climate change and difficult circumstances rising in hills.
