Since 2005, Songtaba has been empowering and supporting women, children and other vulnerable groups in Northern Ghana. Our vision is to see a society free from inequality and injustice in which women and other vulnerable groups enjoy their fundamental rights. Our program priorities are governance, education, integrated health and livelihoods (including climate change). In Ghana, the organisation works in 5 regions (Upper East, Upper West, Northern, North East and Savannah Regions). We work with girls and young women as well as the youth to increase their participation in leadership and decision making, to access justice, as well as women and the underserves minority groups to promote their rights.

Songtaba works to bridge the gap, working to increase the status of the Northern Region as a whole by promoting the status and rights of women and children especially girls and persons with disability including mental health.

Our program address inequality on a variety of fronts. Over the years, Songtaba designed and implemented social safety net programs to secure the rights and safety of persons accused of witchcraft based on suspicion and allegation and supported the reintegration of these women as well as the disbandment of the alleged witches camps. Work with partners to strengthen educational outcomes contributing to increase school enrolment in Northern Region through Education program.

Songtaba also work to support women and young people empowerment in diverse livelihood programs in agriculture value chain related and other business development and marketing using digital platforms to promote their business.
