In Congo basin and African countries, FLAG promotes good governance principles, especially legality and transparency in natural resource management. It produces information, trains and support NSA.

FLAG seeks to promote an African society in which the management and the use of natural resources complies with good governance principles. its missions are :
- Support Non state actors in monitoring compliance and law enforcement related to natural resource management;
- Analise and disseminate information about natural resource management;
- Provide practical support to governments in the management of natural resources
FLAG approach combines the technical expertise of its staff with the active involvement of key stakeholder trough « Learning by doing » in situ and at distance.
The main beneficiary of FLAG intervention are:
- Forest dependent communities
- civil society organization involved in the monitoring of natural resource ;
- Government bodies in charge of natural resource ;
- parliamentarians ;
- Private sector representatives.
