‘Injustice Anywhere is a Threat to Justice Everywhere’
As the world debated the new Sustainable Development Goals, hundreds of organisations around the world took part in our campaign to advocate for justice to be placed at the heart of the new global framework. They represent the millions who told the UN that access to justice is key to equitable development and safe societies. Meetings were held globally from the grassroots to the highest levels of power, events organised, media engaged and governments persuaded. Over 310 grassroots organisations from 60 countries endorsed the Open Letter to the United Nations General Assembly calling for justice in development.
While not perfect, the new development goals have justice running through them. Now every country needs to live up to the commitments it is making at the UN.
Here is just a small number of the people who are demanding the action needed to make the SDGs real in people’s lives.
