In 2003, Keeping Alive Societies’ Hope started its operations in Kenya as a Community Based Organization (CBO), and subsequently registered as a Non-Governmental Organization (NGO) in 2007, to empower key and marginalized population (including sex workers (SWs) and men who have sex with men (MSM)), so as to promote a healthy society and advocate for their human rights.
Specifically, KASH endeavours to: strengthen delivery of integrated HIV prevention, care & treatment, and related services to members of the Key and Vulnerable Populations (KVP); strengthen delivery of quality and comprehensive services to marginalized populations by 2019; protect and promote the rights of those who are socially excluded, marginalized and vulnerable in the society (due to their gender, sexual orientation, tribe, religion and other discriminative indices); and increase per capita income of KVP enrolled in KASH program to 20% by 2019.
KASH activities gravitate around human rights, health interventions, policy and advocacy, governance & democracy, socio-economic empowerment, and capacity building.
