CDI Background:

CHANGE DEVELOPMENT INITIATIVES (CDI) PROFILE

CDI is a non-profit CBO founded in 2015 by a team of professionals with diverse knowledge and experience on OVC, youth and women programming issues. It was formed to restore hope among OVC, youth and women in the marginalized and underserved communities. CDI is governed by a board of 6 members and is located in Kizito zone, Luwero Town Council. CDI aims at transforming Ugandan communities so that everybody is able to positively respond to issues affecting their lives by collectively participating in the sustainable development initiatives in their communities. The organization focuses on OVC, youth and women.   CDI operates in Luwero Sub-county, Butuntumula, Luwero Town Council and Kamira in the Core Program Areas of Child Protection, Economic Empowerment, Health, Education, Food security and Nutrition & Advocacy.

We envision a Society Where Everybody is Aware and Positively Responsive to Issues Affecting their Political, Social and Economic Lives with a mission of supporting communities to embrace socio-economic transformation through promoting access to education, health, food security and nutrition, economic empowerment and protection of human rights.

The organization strives to achieve the following objectives of; 

  1. Promoting the observance of children, adolescents and women rights.
  2. Promoting vulnerable children accessibility to quality education and health Services.
  3. Promoting the socio-economic development of Ugandan Communities and
  4. Advocating for best practices among stakeholders in order to protect human rights.

The organization cherishes the values of Integrity, Love & Respect, Transparency & Accountability and God fearing.

CDI partners with relevant government structures like local governments, police, health centres and schools. We also work with other non-state actors like CSOs and private sector.
