Alianza Translatinx (ATL) is a transgender-led, community-rooted nonprofit based in Santa Ana, Orange County, California, serving transgender and gender expansive people—particularly immigrants, low-income individuals, and those most impacted by systemic inequities. Founded during the COVID-19 pandemic by trans immigrant women, ATL began as a mutual aid effort and has grown into a comprehensive hub for care, advocacy, and leadership development. Our mission is to protect, defend, and advance the rights and wellbeing of our communities by building collective power, dismantling barriers, and expanding access to essential resources.
Through our drop-in center model, ATL provides culturally grounded, trauma-informed services including housing navigation and emergency assistance, legal empowerment with name and gender marker changes, healthcare access and HIV prevention, mental health and emotional wellness support, food and clothing distribution, and peer support groups. We also lead leadership development and community organizing initiatives that center lived experience, cultivate emerging trans leaders, and advance policy change.
Rooted in Latinx culture and immigrant justice, ATL partners with local health systems, legal organizations, and community groups to create pathways to safety, stability, and dignity. Our work blends direct services with systemic advocacy to ensure that transgender and gender expansive people are not only supported in crisis, but empowered to shape the conditions that affect their lives.
